The Rockport Group of Companies is engaged in the development, construction, sales, and management of quality residential, commercial and industrial properties.

For more than 40 years, Rockport has been part of the Greater Toronto Area’s growth and development, having undertaken projects throughout the GTA as well as elsewhere in Ontario.

Pickering, Scarborough and Newmarket are the areas where The Rockport Group’s activities have been focused. In these areas The Rockport Group has developed/constructed over 9000 residential units, most of which are townhouse condominiums. The Rockport Group pioneered the condominium concept in Ontario, having registered the first five Condominium Corporations in the Toronto area.

Rockport has also developed industrial condominiums, shopping centres, a self-storage facility, and a community of estate homes surrounding a golf course. Between 1997 and 2001, it developed, marketed, sold, built and delivered approximately 600 new residences, including high-rise condos, retirement residences and innovative townhouses.

The management team at The Rockport Group is professional and efficient. The senior executives are Burton and Jack Winberg. A head office staff of 15 people, and up-to-date technology provide property management and construction management services.

Burton Winberg, started the company, and is the Chairman of The Rockport Group. He has over 50 years of business experience as a private entrepreneur engaged in a host of real estate and financial enterprise activities. His experience includes participation as a substantial shareholder and director of several publicly traded real estate, trust, insurance and financial services concerns.
